On or after June 15, 2019 Cloudflare will start collecting value added tax (“VAT”) on sales of its services to customers based in the Russian Federation as required by the new Russian VAT rules that went into effect on January 1, 2019. Under the new rules, Cloudflare is required to charge a VAT tax of 20%. In other words, 16.67% of the invoice represents VAT.

Example:
Product pricing: $100
VAT inclusive pricing: $120
VAT amount: $20 ($100 * 20%)
VAT rate: 16.67% ($20 / 120)

You have received this notice because your invoice is subject to the new VAT. Our records indicate that your company or its management is located in Russia or services are performed in Russia. If your company or management is no longer located in Russia or services are not performed in Russia, please update your account profile by following the instructions outlined here using the email account associated with your Cloudflare account. There, you may also provide your Russia VAT number if you would like to have your VAT number listed on the invoice.
