А на Альтависту и не надейся, при смерти она.

Search Engines Delivering Stale Results

Excite (www.excite.com) and AltaVista (www.altavista.com) search indexes are

several months out of date. Excite At Home, the parent company of Excite

filed for bankruptcy last month. The search engine has reportedly not

updated their index since the end of May. Expect Excite to provide only

pay-per-click listing in the near future if it survives at all. If you must

get listed in Excite right now the only solution is paying for a listing at

FindWhat (www.findwhat.com), a pay-per-click engine. Those results are now

more prominently featured at Excite then in the past. AltaVista is also

providing a stale index. The company admits that its spiders haven't fully

crawled the Internet since early this summer. Although certain sites like

CNN.com are reindexed frequently, the only way it seems for most sites to be

refreshed is to sign up for their paid listing service. From our experience,

this service may not be cost effective and your search engine marketing

budget may be better spent elsewhere. We will continue to analyze the

service and give you more information in a future newsletter. The company

promises to refresh the entire database this month. If it does not, the

future of AltaVista may be in serious doubt.
