An IBAN is an International Bank Account Number.

It’s used in 77 countries, and is supposed to facilitate international transactions.

Other than Europe and some other countries, the major players — The U.S, China, Canada, Japan, South Africa, Australia, the Philippines — do not use them.

So they don’t really facilitate a lot of international commerce.

A bright icon attracts attention much better than a dark one. It is similar to a wedding dress.
