Google announced that in the near future video conferencing service will Meet in mobile Gmail application for iOS and Android. The web version of the service it became available last month.
In the coming weeks, each user will access a video conference on the smartphone. The Gmail app for Meet will be highlighted in a separate tab.
Users can also join meetings directly from a message:
Upcoming meetings will be displayed in Google Calendar. To join them, users can in a single click.
To start a videoconference to get a reference to a meeting or add a call to the upcoming calendar, just click the "Start meeting" at the Meet tab.
Select "Join a meeting with a password," users will be able to join the meeting at the invitation using a specially generated code.
The new functionality will appear in the Gmail mobile applications in the coming weeks.
Recall that Google Meet service was launched for all users in April. Before that, he was only available for customers G Suite.
According to Google, Meet videoconferencing and recording on the disc is protected by encryption. In addition, the service does not allow to join meetings to anonymous users without a Google account. Meet user data are not used for advertising and not forwarded to third parties.
