Google Merchant Center team told about the changes that will occur in terms of quality feeds in 2020.
Changes that take effect immediately:
- Attributes installment [installment] and subscription_cost [abonentskaya_plata]: In some countries, you can now specify values for these attributes for the mobile and telecommunications services, but only to product listing ads.
- New attribute product_detail [dopolnitelnye_svedeniya_o_tovare]: it can be used to specify the technical characteristics or additional properties of the goods, for which the introduction of other attributes do not fit.
- New attribute product_highlight [glavnoe_o_tovare]: This optional attribute is necessary to include a brief description of the main characteristics of the goods.
- Annotations to the discount price: GMC loosened requirements for authors wishing to show annotations with the discount price in product ads. Now it can be done, if in the past 180 days, the total value of the goods has changed for at least 30 days. These days do not have to be consecutive.
The changes that will take effect September 1, 2020:
- For some categories of products at Google, including Media subcategories [media] and Apparel & Accessories [garments and accessories] need to provide additional attributes, such as the gender of [sex], age_group [vozrastnaya_gruppa] size bed [size] and color [ color], and / or unique identifiers. If all the necessary information is not available, the service is not to reject the goods, but they will be located below the positions for which the data is added.
- If the item category is automatically detected correctly, it can be changed. To do this, you need to add to the product attribute google_product_category [kategoriya_tovara_v_google].
- Attribute description [description] will become mandatory for all positions. Products without this attribute will be located below the positions for which it is added.
- Attributes material [material], pattern [pattern] and image_link [ssylka_na_izobrazhenie] with respect to goods for which is given more than one attribute values these attributes will issue a warning. Different materials or patterns will be separated by a slash need (/) or a hyphen (-). Use a comma as the separator can not.
To avoid issues with your ads, your Google Merchant Center also advised to regularly go to the page "Diagnostics" in your account. This will allow time to identify and resolve problems.
